MASSAGE, YOGA AND A MOVIE

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

how-we-watch-moviesWe’ve all done “Dinner and a Movie” but have you ever thought of “Massage and a Movie” or “Yoga and a Movie”…and even better yet, “Yoga, Massage and a Movie”??  I don’t know about you but I love the sound of it!

One of the massage schools I attended had movies in the evening.  After a long day of my massage studies I would walk down the hill enjoy the HOT Springs, some healthy food and then watch a movie in the theatre they had there.  It was wonderful!  There were wonderful plush pillows at various tiers in the theatre and you could bring a blanket and just kick back and watch a great film.  My only challenge was getting back to my room being careful not to stumble upon a Deer or Wild Turkey in the dark.

While at one of my intense yoga trainings a particular instructor I had, enjoyed “strongly encouraging” the students to attend movies shown in the evenings after several hours of intense yoga posture study.  Most often this instructor would enjoy massage during the film.  Perhaps you know who I’m speaking of??

I so enjoyed these experiences it has encouraged me to begin my own “Yoga and a Movie”, “Massage and a Movie and Yoga”, “Massage and a Movie Nights”.  So I don’t have access to a “Hot Spring” being in Atlanta GA, however I do have access to a HOT Room for some HOT Juicy Yoga.  Don’t worry, we won’t sit in a “HOT” room to watch the films.

We have some films scheduled.  Check out the “Workshops” section of our site.  Reserve your seat, come check it out and let us know what you think.  Feel free to bring your own food and/or drink.

I read an article a few weeks ago that I just cannot help but share with all of you.  The article is about an 83 years of age, grandmother.  She is a great inspiration to me and perhaps she will be to you too.

She has been teaching yoga longer than I have been alive and she is still going strong and has no plans of slowing down.  She doesn’t need to because her yoga practice keeps her young, strong, balanced and flexible.
This is what I aspire to as I enter the HOT yoga room everyday.  I’ve come a long way in all the years I’ve practiced and I know that in the years to come I will only improve and so can you.  It is never too late to begin your yoga practice.
